The Mission

My mission is to impact the monopoly created by the shops who unfairly overprice bikes and be able to supply students with cheap and quality bikes.

The Challenge 

Over the past few years , as an active intro week parent for the association of Thor , I noticed that a lot of intro kids don't have bikes due to the high demand and low supply. Bike shops around September , knowing that there will be a wave of new students looking forward to buying a bike proceed to overprice the available bikes by a significant factor. Leading to students wasting money on not so great in condition bikes that will eventually need replacement or repair.

The Solution

The police and municipality upon collecting abandoned bikes, they store them for 6 months in order to be claimed by their owners. The unclaimed bikes proceed to be auctioned off online, for cheap prices, and usually the winning bids belong to bike shops. My solution is to store those bikes that were going to be auctioned and have them available to be purchased by anyone who has a student card of our university. Guaranteeing a much lower price , more quantity and more variety than shops are currently offering.
