Low carbon product design

Description of the assignment Vanderlande wants to reduce the Carbon Footprint impact of the solutions that are being designed and delivered. As an OEM we can decide which materials we use in our products. The most common materials are steel, aluminium, plastic and conveyor belt materials. All these materials have a certain impact on the environment in the form of a carbon equivalent emission factor (CO2eq). The assignment is aimed at reducing the carbon footprint impact of our products through design. Which materials have the highest impact? And how can we reduce this? The bottom line is: Design for minimal carbon impact, over the life cycle of a product. Which methodology should Vanderlande apply to achieve this and what would be the impact on our business if we do this? Are there alternative materials or design methods we can apply to achieve a maximal reduction? Can you demonstrate the efficacy of this methodology by performing a redesign on one of our products, with the methodology as proposed by you? Depending on the intern’s background, skills and interest, the assignment can be steered towards a more technical or a business subject.

Data Scientist at Asset Insight

As a Data Scientist, within Asset Insight, part of Vialis, you will contribute to the development and operation of our algorithms and products. You will think in an innovative way about how we can set up our production line as effectively as possible, and be able to convert these into valuable solutions for our clients. You will work closely with domain experts, developers and other departments to extract the most relevant and valuable insights from our customers' data and turn them into actionable business value.

Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our contract teams. Your will be deployed on maintenance, and realisation contracts in both the tender, mobilisation and execution phase. Your focus is on implementing, developing, monitoring and adjusting Systems Engineering in the contract and assessing the content of the verifications. STUDENT THESIS: TYPE 4 PRESSURE VESSELS

Your tasks: Supporting the production of series and development vessels / Literature research on tools for process monitoring for the wet winding process / Analysis of winding process regarding quality-relevant parameters / Concept development for measuring quality-relevant parameters, e. g. camera or sensor-based / Setup of test matrix and execution of tests on vessels to determine relative process parameters / Evaluation of test results and feedback for improved vessel production

STUDENT THESIS: AE-ANALYSIS

Your tasks: Describing the state of the art of acoustic emission (AE) analysis for carbon-fiber reinforced structures (in detail for pressure vessels) / Conception and realisation of an AE-analysis test set-up / Development of a standardised and automated test procedure (incl. data evaluation) / Analysis of AE in hydrostatic and hydrodynamic pressure tests of Type 4 pressure vessels / Evaluation of test results and correlation with quality features of the pressure vessels

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

As an electrical system development engineer (technician) you oversee the design and implementation of our company processes. You will be responsible for specification and design of electrical/electronic components for hydrogen storage systems. You will support development and customer projects including assembly and maintenance of the complex NPROXX hydrogen storage systems.

Engineer Industriële Automatisering

In deze functie ga je een belangrijke en leidende rol vervullen bij het optimaliseren van onze IT infrastructuur, je ontwikkelt met je collega’s een roadmap naar de toekomst en werkt aan de invulling van de diverse projecten die worden gedefinieerd in het kader van deze roadmap. Denk daarbij aan het ontwikkelen van macro’s binnen het CAM programma Top Solid voor het in-line meten en corrigeren van de gereedschapsbanen en het verder ontwikkelen van het Statistical Process Control (SPC) op de machines met standaard software pakketten maar ook met eigen ontwikkelingen. Naast de ontwikkeling van de digitale infrastructuur programmeer je met behulp van Top solid CAM programmatuur complexe onderdelen van mechanische samenstellingen. Je bepaalt per product de routing over verschillende afdelingen en machines. Per bewerking bepaal je o.a. de opspanning, tool-lijsten, mallen en CNC-programma’s. Verder ben je ook verantwoordelijk voor het voorbereiden van productieorders en de begeleiding van deze orders gedurende de productie en het opstarten van de orders op de bewerkingsmachine. Je zorgt voor de afstemming met de meetkamer, coördinatie en optimalisatie van de verschillende bewerkingen, waarbij je overall verantwoordelijk bent voor het product.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Als Quality Assurance Engineer ben je primair verantwoordelijk voor het waarborgen en continue verbeteren van het hoge kwaliteitsniveau richting de klanten, leveranciers en de interne organisatie van Frencken Mechatronics Europe.

Senior Production Engineer

In deze rol bij jij verantwoordelijk voor het technisch introduceren, onderhouden en verbeteren/optimaliseren van het assemblage- en fabricageproces. Als specialist van het product en het assemblage proces ben jij zowel intern als extern het aanspreekpunt voor technische zaken.
